Description: Spine browned with chipping at the top. Corners bumped and rubbed. Page edges a little browned with some spotting. Front and rear free endpapers missing and webbing exposed. Trace of a label having been removed from the final page so may have been in a lending library. The half-title page is browned. Traces of lines drawn with a pencil at the front and rear of the book. Light spots and stains to a number of pages through the book. No jacket. Illustrated by Bruno Kay. First printing.

Notable cracking to gutters, however binding remains firm. Previous owner's inscription to front pastedown. Boards have light edgewear with corner crushing and notable marking and foxing to boards. Mild tanning to spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Book has forward lean. Boards are mildly warped. Moderate water stains to boards.

Spine slightly bumped and some light rubbing to corners. Some light spotting to covers. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Endpapers browned. Heavy foxing to textblock, affecting some page margins. Price-cut dustwrapper is worn, torn and creased with some slight loss and tape repairs on verso. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!

The spine is straight.The rear board has some minor rubs to the top edge. The inside boards are clean and bright. The front end paper has an inscription. The rear end paper has minor fox marks to the bottom right hand edge. The internal pages are clean and bright. Dust wrapper/ The front cover has a rear 6cm along the spine edge. the top edge has a 1/2cm chip. There is a crease running along the top edge with a 1cm chip on the front flap corner. There is a 4cm tear to the bottom spine hinge. There is a crease attached. The bottom right hand corner has 1 2cm chip. The spine has rubs with some loss. The title is rubbed. There is also a 2cm chip on the top edge. There is minor loss to the bottom edge not affecting publisher stamp. The top of the back cover has four tiny closed tears and a crease with rubs. all four corners have tiny chips. The front and rear flaps have curled on the top edges. Price cut. The rear of the jacket is clean.
