Description: Two Volumes bound together. FLEET Title page dated 1899. Bound with both Series Half Titles but no advertisements. Plain endpapers. Bound in cream colored vellum with gilt spine decorations and leather inset on the spine with the title and in gilt. I have seen this binding described as 'vellum', 'faux vellum' and 'paper vellum'. This copy was once in the collection of The American Academy in Rome and has some minor markings: ink stamps to the title page; small Library Blindstamp; Bookplate; discreet pencil Library numbers to the top corner of the front endpaper; small Library catalog numbers and the word 'Stack' in black ink on the upper left corner of the front cover. Some wear to leather spine label. A clean example, mild cover dustiness, but solid and well kept. Attractive!
