Description: Original green decorated binding with gilt titles on front cover and spine. Top and bottom of spine and corners of binding are rubbed and bumped. Bottom outside corners of front and back covers have been damp and are marked but contents were not effected by the dampness. Rubber stamp name and ink signature of previous owners on front flyleaf. Front flyleaf is marked and rubbed. 74pp. Contents clean and sound with all color illustrations present and in very good condition. No Foxing. This book may require additional postage. All illustrations (10 in all) by the author, in color (two are in full color). A pirate tale of Captain Robertson Keitt and his crew and the theft of a treasure which contained the famous Ruby of Kishmoor.

Illustrated with 9 Howard Pyle color plates, and a color frontispiece with a tissue guard. Two leaves with offset browning from a previously inserted piece of newsprint (Howard Pyle illustrations not affected). Covers with some light soiling and a hint of fraying at extremities of spine, but still a very good copy. This work first appeared in Harper's magazine, August 1907.
