Description: FIRST EDITION. Attractively bound by Sangorski & Sutcliffe in full tree calf, panelled in gilt, raised bands, red morocco labels, spine gilt in compartments; extremities sl. rubbed, head of spine a bit bumped, hinges starting but sound. Pictorial bookplate of Richard Adams on leading pastedown. Wise (18). Richard Adams, 1920-2016, best remembered for his 1972 novel Watership Down: his bookplate, rather appropriately, depicts a rabbit in a bramble.

Description: FIRST EDITION. 'Poems, Vol. III' titlepage included at end along with label slip, 4pp cata. (April, 1820); some light spotting. Endpapers sl. browned. Uncut in orig. drab boards; recased, extremities sl. rubbed, corners a bit bumped. Pictorial bookplate of Samuel Hoare on leading pastedown. An interesting copy in boards retaining extra material to complete the Miscellaneous Poems set. Wise (18). Dedicated to his brother the Rev. Christopher Wordsworth. The prefatory 'advertisement' states: 'This Publication, together with 'The Thanksgiving Ode', Jan. 18. 1816, 'The Tale of Peter Bell,' and 'The Wagoner,' completes the third and last volume of the Author's Miscellaneous Poems.' This volume includes the title page and label slip for 'Poems' that would have allowed the volume to be rebound to complete the set that was published separately between 1816 and 1820.
