Description: Bound in clean blue decorated cloth with bright, gilt titles to front board and spine, this 1932 hardcover First Edition is VG. X111/193pp with Foreword by Florence Milner, Full-page and other drawings set in text by author, Poetry and Prose included. Discolouration of mainly blank margin pages 48/49: all text legible. Published here for the first time are two manucsript magazines which Carroll wrote in his youth. Humorous and whimsical and wrtten about 1850, these early works neverthless reflect the scholarly atmosphere in which he lived, with detailed footnotes as if in a dissertation. Clean endpapers, slight wear to top/tail of spine and corners; two small abrasions to rear board, slight rubbing to spine edge.
