Description: Black cloth with gilt on spine. Front and rear paste downs and end papers very yellowed. Mild yellowing to text. Dust jacket yellowed, price clipped. Shallow chips out of spine head, heel, and tips. Short, closed tear at top right corner on back of jacket, taped from behind. Small piece of tape in top left corner on back of jacket, which has a brownish stain along the top edge. First English Edition, which was expurgated for the English reader, with a number of omissions in the text.

Description: 1949. First Edition. 132 pages. Beige and red pictorial dust jacket over black cloth. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. The unclipped dust jacket has heavy edge wear, with tears, chips and areas of loss. Light tanning to spine and edges.

Black cloth gilt. 132pp. Gallup A60b, comprising Cantos LXXIV-LXXXIV: 'The title of this new section of the poem refers to Mr. Pound's detention, after the arrival in northern Italy of the armies of liberation by the American military authorities at a camp near Pisa: a brief period in the author's life to which the reader will detect frequent allusions in the text.' Originally published in New York in the previous year. A number of omissions and expurgations were introduced in the text of this UK edition; this copy is the 1st printing thus, with the text of pp.104 and 105 in the wrong order. Gentle bumping to the corners of the boards, slightly spotted to the outer leaves, and with moderate creasing and occasional soiling, in the jacket (in a removable plastic sleeve), price-clipped and chipped to the corners and spine ends, the head edge rubbed in general, but sound enough.

Front and rear free end papers are offset ,but generally the inside is clean and tight.Dust Jacket is good but slightly chipped to top of spine, cream with red spine and stripes on front ,with title in large black lettering. If you have read the previous cantos this will present little difficulty.
