With illustration of the Pied Piper on the front cover and a Heraldic plate on the rear cover. First issue first state. With green/ teal endpapers. Brown cloth backed color pictorial glazed paper covered boards with light wear to the two bottom fore edge corners for what is a beautiful copy of the book. Original publisher's pictorial dust wrapper repeats the design of the book's front cover with inconsequential wear to the fold corners and one large chip to the top edge of the back panel for what is a very lovely copy of the wrapper. Dark green endpapers. 64 pp. The classic tale of the Pied Piper who pipes a village free of rats, and when the villagers refuse to pay him for the service, he pipes away their children as well; illustrated with thirty-five full color drawings by Greenaway. The condition of the book is NEAR FINE. The condition of the dust wrapper is VERY GOOD +. Rare in this condition and in the dust wrapper.
