Description: Cracked front hinge but binding is sound. Pages tanned with some wear to a few page edges early in book. Embossed cloth over boards has bright gilt design on front and rubbed and darkened gilt on spine. Cloth has edge rubbing, overall light shelf wear. ; Exhaustive account of the War of 1812, illustrated throughout in black and white. The author, Benson John Lossing (1813-1891) was an American historian known best for his illustrated books on the American Revolution and American Civil War and features in Harper's Magazine.
