Medium blue boards, orange lettering and eps, Nancy silhouette on cover in orange. Spine ends have softened with a light crease down middle, old tape marks in the gutter of pages 2/3, with a small piece showing on bottom of page 1. There is also a mark between pages 4/5. P.o. name of FFEP, the textblock edge stain has bled onto pages 156/7, and the boards have discoloration/water damage? to side edges about 1" inwards. Number 9 in the series. None of my books are ex-lib., remainders or bce unless specified.

G/- This meets all the requirements for the rare first edition of this title: four glossy illustrations (including the frontis) by Russell Tandy, the odd copyright statement (see picture), no list of titles at the rear, top edge red. Blue cloth, orange lettering and Nancy illustration on front, orange spyglass endpapers. Rubbed at extremities, board exposed all corners, a whitish stain bottom edge both covers, spine faded and fraying at edges. Owner's name front free endpaper, bookseller sticker bottom rear fixed endpaper, otherwise clean and unmarked, binding and hinges sound. All four illustrations are present and are perfect. A little shabby on the outside, internally very clean.

The blue boards have light discoloration and edgewear along bottom, but binding sturdy and square and contents clean and unmarked. Covered in a larely worn later jacket that lists to The Witch Tree Symbol on the flap. A treasure!
