With "Methuen's Colonial Library" at foot of the spine and on the e/papers and with "Colonial Edition" on the titlepage. 8vo., orig. purple cloth with gilt stamping on the spine, (312), 32pp.ads dated "September 1911." Spine slightly faded as is common with purple cloth but o/w a near fine copy. Laurence & Edel A70a note the first edition had 32pp.ads dated August and bound in green cloth, while BAL notes three dates for adverts with no priority but neither not the colonial edition. Supino notes the colonial edition, but states that the verso of the title reads "First published October 5th, 1911, Second edition October 1911" and speculates that the entire second edition was used for the colonial issue. However, our copy is not a second edition, it is the first edition sheets with "First published in 1911" on the verso of the titlepage. An unrecorded issue.
