Very Good overall, lacking jackets, foxing to edges. An oft-cited defense of liberalism called "one of the great books of the century" by The Times of London. A nice association between two distinguished historians; while Popper is much better-known, Howard was called "Britain's greatest living historian" by the Financial Times and an expert on the subject of war. His handwritten insights on Popper's masterpiece should interest Cold War historians.
