Description: Limited edition of 700 copies, this is number 569. Signed by Miller on the limitation page. Green cloth boards with printed paper label affixed to spine. Boards are in fine condition, though the spine is slightly cocked. Protected by a plain brown glassine dust jacket and a cardboard mailing box. Jacket has some creasing and a few tears and chips. Tight binding and clean interior. Unpaginated. Includes reproductions of two watercolors by Emil Schnellock and occasional sketches by Miller. Henry Miller (1891-1980) was an acclaimed and controversial American novelist. In 1939, after 10 years of expatriation in Paris, Miller returned to the U. S. And commenced a three-year odyssey across the country. This is a near-facsimile of one of the manuscript notebooks he kept during the journey and later used to write "The Air-Conditioned Nightmare" and "Remember to Remember." ; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; Signed by Author

Description: Green book cloth with paste on title, author, publisher on spine. Green end papers. Number 97 of a limited edition of 700 copies. Signed by author beneath the copy number on blank page after the half title page. Prefatory material includes half title page, signature page, publishing history (original copyright listed as 1945) and two page quotation from Miller's Air-Conditioned Nightmare. The body of the book is a near facsimile of the manuscript originally titled "Notebook of American Tour 1940-1941" Reproductions of two watercolors by Emil Schnelloch. Handwritten index credits source of illustrations and bits of text in the manuscript. Interesting insights into characters and locations that Miller enountered on this "tour". Boards are clean and square. Text is clean and tight. Text block encountered some moisture which left no staining but gave a light ripple to the outside page edges. Still a very collectible copy.
