Publisher's gilt-stamped red cloth, top edges gilt. Incomplete with 6 (ONLY) of 18 chromolithographic plates, 17 photogravures, and 1 other illustration, all with tissue guards. The volume is edge rubbed, has bumped corners and spine ends, with fraying and splits on the spine joints but with the spine still secure, spine top and tail frayed, and the spine lettering is a bit faded. xi, [i], 142pp. Approximately 16 inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine poor condition gilt titles, worn faded and torn to the outer cloth. Joints poor condition split to the outer cloth, structurally intact behind this, rubbed and worn, faded in colour. Corners good condition bumped and worn. Boards good condition worn and darkened cloth, gilt titles to the front board. Page edges good condition top edge gilt, others tanned. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition sound. Description: A limited edition of 550 copies, this is copy no 529. Finely bound in two tone maroon and tan cloth, with gilt lettering to front and spine. Spine is worn and frayed top and bottom, with mottled markings. Boards are rubbed with small stains to front and rear. Pages are clean and binding is tight. Very fine reproductions with eighteen coloured plates, seventeen photogravures and two other illustrations by Thorburn and Millais. This book is very heavy, please enquire about postage.

Limited edition of 550 copies of which this is no. 251. Pp. xi, 142; complete with 18 colour plates (printed by Albert Frisch - Berlin) and 17 photogravures (b/w plates printed by W. L. Colls, Barnes) all by Thorburn and Millais and two b/w photographs by T. Tait. Publisher's two-tone red cloth, very good with a little general wear and a little rubbing to edges, lightly marked, spine somewhat faded as usual. Contents clean and tight, no inscriptions, more or less unmarked (light foxing to pages adjacent to photographic plate as usual). A very good bright copy. Size: Folio
