Description: This is a stated Second Printing of the Tenth Anniversary Edition of 1985, newly illustrated by R. Crumb. Bound in black cloth with title and wrench design in bright silver on the front cover. Corners are sharp and the binding is tight. Endpapers with illustrated map by R.Crumb. One small tan are on the ffe. Sprinkling of foxing on the edges. Otherwise, the book is clean with crisp, smooth and unmarked pages. Binding is tight. In text illustrations in black and white throughout. The author was an environmentalist and socialist. The illustrator, a comic book artist, created the album cover for " Cheap Thrills" by Big Brother and the Holding Company. The book is printed on "Warren's Antique Acid-Free Paper" 356 pp.

It consisted of 250 numbered copies signed by Abbey, as well as an original art print signed by the illustrator Robert Crumb. A beautiful copy in fine condition. Very tight, resists opening. The slipcase is fine except the label is just a bit loose on one side. The photos are the best description. A chance to own an exception rarity with the signatures of both Abbey and Crumb.

Additionally, this is one of only fifty copies signed by the (actually existing) individuals who inspired the characters in Abbey's immortal novel. This particular copy is lacking the signature of Bonnie Abbzug, aka Ingrid Eisenstadter. Copy number 46 of 50 signed by the novel's characters and copy 196/250 signed by Abbey and including the print signed by Crumb. Slipcase has trace rubbing along the bottom of one edge. Book has never been read. Book and slipcase are both in near fine condition.
