Blue-black smooth cloth, lettered in gilt on front cover and spine. Top edge trimmed, others un-trimmed. Three corners slightly bumped, the fourth more so. Title-page and frontispiece yellowed from contact with tissue guard. Internally a good, clean copy. 1st edition. Edel & Laurence A79a. The text is a seven-chapter fragment of what was to have been the third volume of James's autobiography. It was dictated during the autumn of 1914, and unrevised at the time of James's death.

Dark blue boards with gold lettering to spine and front are good with pushing/bumping to corners, the odd small mark, fading/browning to spine, odd bump/rub to edges and a little wear (pushing/rubbing/tiny splits to the cloth) to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Inside boards/end-papers tanned. Rough cut page edges and bottoms. Previous owner's name and date in pen to front blank page. Odd spot of foxing/small mark to page edges, tops and bottoms. Very occasional small mark/spot of foxing to pages. No other faults. All books described honestly and accurately. Paypal accepted.
