Discoloration, staining and scuffing to boards. Hinges starting. Decorated title page. Page following title repaired along gutter with binders tape. "Shakespeare's comedy of the Merry Wives of Windsor presented in eight pen designs by Walter Crane". The b/w plates are mounted on stiff white pages. Chipping to bottom right corner throughout not affecting text or plates. Some age yellowing to pages. Signed by Walter Crane and the engraver, Duncan C. Dallas. Binding in poor, interior in good condition.

Engraved and printed by Duncan C. Dallas. Very large format. 14.75 x 11.5" approx. Green cloth with gilt titles and vignettes. Plates are mounted on thick card with paper guards. No text. Copy no: 10. Spine and corners bumped with wear. Some foxing and a few small marks to covers. Front joint cracked, rear joint starting to crack. Light corner crease to both endpapers, title page and signature page. Some foxing and browning to contents. Foxing to first plate and just a couple of fox spots to second plate. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!
