Description: Light blue hardcover with title in white outlined in black, 2 color paste-on , green and white pictorial endpapers, 12 color plates, title page in orange and black, BRAUNWORTH in serif, and D in wizard shows only very slight damage. Edges of covers are worn with bumping and light fraying at corners and spine ends. Covers also show soiling and rubbing. The paste on is chipped, rubbed and lightly soiled. Bottom spine, top and bottom back cover show dog nibbling. FFE is torn out with light fingerprinting throughout the 137 pages. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall

First Edition, but not a first state (Braunworth imprint is in unserifed type, and on back of copyright, rather than title page, numeral appears on page 50, and caption on p. 121 is undamaged). There is a 1913 owners inscription. Cover faded and rubbed, minor restoration to endpapers.

Description: Original blue hardcover boards with intact paper illustration affixed to front. Spine reads Magical Monarch. First edition. Condition is very good, with no dust jacket. Binding is solid, interior pages are clean and fresh, and the twelve color plates by Frank Verbeck are vivid. Light wear to edges of boards. Endpapers front and rear are illustrated with blue line drawings. Title page reads The Surprising Adventures of the Magical Monarch of Mo and His People. Large 8vo. 237 pp. plus four blank pages following. A very nice copy.

Description: First edition in blue cloth with pictorial label in red and yellow, spine and cover stamped in black and white, pictorial endpapers in black and peach, illustrated with 12 full color plates and in in b&w throughout by Frank Verbeck. All plates present (frontispiece, and opposite page 6, 12, 34, 44, 74, 104, 130, 146, 168, 190, and 232). Indianapolis: The Bobbs-Merrill Company (1903), 237 pages. Good. Cloth and label have some soiling, sunned spine, edge wear with fraying at spine ends and tips. Book store stamp on front paste down, a couple of interior pages have modest soil, and a few have small tears. Cracked rear hinge with restoration.
