Description: Published by the Viking Press, 1951. First edition in maroon cloth with dust jacket. Book is in very very good condition, slight bumping and rubbing to corners, the slightest shelf wear to bottom edge and tail of spine. Endpapers are nice and bright. A very small nick or hole to the hinge of back cover, through the endpaper. Interior is sharp and clean, some very slight age-toning overall. Jacket is sunned at spine and around edges of front cover, chips to edges and corners, 1" closed tear to upper left corner of front cover. Short tears at top of back cover have been mended with scotch tape. Overall lightly soiled. Flaps are mildly age-toned but unclipped.

Dust jacket is price clipped with minimal chipping on the corners and the top and bottom of the spine. There is a small closed tear on the back and a crease on the bottom front corner. The spine is sunned but writing is readable. Top edge stained red. Book color is maroon. Map endpapers. Appears to be unread. Scarce in this condition. Owner's bookplate on the first title page.
