A fine copy, the binding firm, the spine rolled, the cloth and gilt remain bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that is slightly faded to the red lettering on the spine and has a couple of very short closed tears to the edges. Not price clipped (7s 6d to the front flap). The author's first play. After premiering on 10 February 1953 at the Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh, the play transferred to the West End where it ran for 308 performances at Wyndham's Theatre (between 16 April 1953 and 9 January 1954).
