Description: Octavo, 4 volumes. A crisp, clean set, bound in early 20th century 3/4 polished brown calf and light brown cloth (by Morrell in London), with gilt spine compartments, morocco spine labels, and marbled endpapers. Both foldouts (depicting Dr. Johnson's handwriting) present. Very mildly ex-library, with some tiny call numbers on the spines, a few stamps, and old pockets to the rear endpapers. Despite these markings, the contents are notably crisp, clean, and fresh, and the set makes a perfectly handsome addition to any library; overall about very good.
