Description: Vol. 1 - 334 pp. ; Vol. 2 - 307 pp. Both volumes of this SCARCE set are edited and compiled from the diaries and papers of the Irish Guards, by the legendary author, Rudyard Kipling. Volume 1 is specific to the Guard's First Battalion, and has an excellent fold-out map at the front of the First Battalion's itinerary from Aug., 1914 - Dec., 1918. It's rear inner gutter is separating, otherwise very good. Volume 2 is specific to the Second Battalion, and it has a similar fold-out map of that Battalion's itinerary from 1915 - 1918. This volume has the complete index at the rear for both volumes. Other than chipping of the bottom edge of the first blank flyleaf, that volume is very clean. Both volumes show light edge and corner wear, and light edge chipping to their respective Title "paste-ons" on their spines. They both present fairly well. Photos upon request.
