Description: One of 400 copies, folio size, 96 pp. This bibliography comprises ninety-nine titles published by The Book Club of California, from 1912 to 1958 with the bibliography itself being "the hundredth book"; with detailed descriptions of the content and physical appearance of each book, this reference serves as both a catalogue for the avid book collector and a document of the prestigious work put out by the Club. The endpapers are a bit darkened. The bibliography of the highly esteemed Book Club of California, a club founded in anticipation of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition. One in an edition limited to 400 copies. From the text- "The aims of The Book Club of California were, as they still are, to encourage fine printing in California and to further 'the study of letters and the promotion of the arts pertaining to the production of books'-. Lectures were to be given, exhibitions held, and books were to be published. There was to be no initiation fee and the annual dues were to be ten dollars- a sum, incidentally, that was not increased until 1947."
