Description: First American edition, third state, with the title leaf tipped-on to a stub, "Illustrated" on the title page, and "Published March, 1902, R" on the copyright page. Red cloth lettered and decorated in white. Neat owner name and bookplate on front endpapers, frontispiece loose and laid in with another illustration starting to become loose, spine sunned with tiny chips at the ends, good only. This printing was originally intended for publication in Canada, but was kept in the U.S. because of high demand (hence the cancel title page).
