Also on the front free endpaper is the pencilled ownership inscription of Anne Ford who was the publicity director for Little, Brown, Waugh's publishers in the U.S.A. Loosely inserted is a small black and white photograph of Waugh standing in his garden.On the first blank is the later small ownership signature of John Metcalf, the Canadian writer, critic and editor. Head and tail of spine faintly rubbed. Very good indeed in good only, nicked and chipped dustwrapper which is slightly dampstained and tanned, with a close tear along much of the fold of the front flap.
