Description: Small octavo, 408 pages. Front hinge slightly loose. The great thing about this copy of the book is the lovely photograph of the Fort Worth Cats taped in at the back of the book. Dated August 11, 1950. The players are all listed by name, and the two batboys are there in the lineup. They all look like they must be young kids. Happy, healthy and fresh out of high school. Description: Inscribed and signed by Allen Russell, president of the Houston Buffs, 1946-1952, on front pasted down paper which also has the bookplate of Morris G. Cook, bookseller. 408 pp. Book has slight right lean. Dark salmon-colored cloth boards have some wear on front hinge, other edges and corners have light bumping. Silver print is lightly worn on front board, and print on spine is dulled. Hinges are slightly loose, and book opens to signature in places. Front free end paper has light smudging. Page edges are darkened, and show a little staining. Bottom of pages 7 and 9 have a 1" closed tear each with light creasing which affects margins only. Page 10 has a stain in left margin which affects text slightly. An occasional page has a little smudging/staining.
