Description: This concise history of Freemasonry; symbolism of Freemasonry; the ancient and accepted Scottish rite; and Royal order of Scotland was originally published in 1898. This copy was published in 1906. The pages are tore edge vellum. The spine is solid and straight. The back board show sun damage but the board itself is solid. A colorized photograph on page 123 of a painting of Knights Templar has adhered to the tissue inserted to protect it. All other illustrations and photographs are in excellent condition and while tissue is inserted over several, page 123 is the ONLY one damaged. The book concludes with an extensive index and pronunciation dictionary. The guilt lettering on the spine and the guilt design on the front of the exterior boards is in very good condition and is not speckled by wear. Proceeds benefit adult literacy.
