Three quarter blue leather over pebbly blue boards, xxxvi, 1196pp, index. B&W illustrations. This is the first volume only with the introduction by Wm. James Hughan. A heavy oversize book. These two volumes are oversized and overweight and will require additional postage.

Description: Two volumes in original terracotta cloth hard covers, with gilt titles to spines and Grand Lodge armorial bearings to fronts. A edition of 2000 sets, this being no. 693. Slight rubbing and edge-wear only to covers. Edges toned; the front endpapers show old ownership inscriptions and bookplates of R. R. Brett [Richard R. Brett]. There is some minor misfolding and creasing/toning to a few of the fold-out plates. Otherwise clean, tight and unmarked. Very neat -- a sound and handsome set. Illustrated, plates. Collates complete. Richard R. Brett was editor and part proprietor/publisher of the Essex Free Press, after having taught school in several locations in southwestern Ontario. He was active in local politics and fraternal lodges.
