Description: Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Three volumes, bound in six (each volume in two parts). Full calf; gilt-stamped spines with raised bands. Gilt trim around outer board edges. Each volume has some wear/rubbing to the board edges, tips, spine, and hinges. Foxing to the pastedowns, endpapers, and flyleaves. Sporadic light foxing to the text. There is a one-and-a-half inch split at the head's front hinge. Board is still strong. This volume also has some mild staining to the front board. Bindings are tight and square. The History of the Rebellion by Edward Hyde, 1st Earl of Clarendon and former advisor to Charles I and Charles II, is his account of the War of the Three Kingdoms (British Civil Wars).
