Pages have mild tanning and foxing throughout, moderate at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Cracking to hinges, no damage to end papers. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding remains reasonably firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is bright and clear.

Lacking volume III and IV. Memoirs of the author Nathaniel Wraxall, edited with notes and additional chapters by the editor Henry B. Wheatley. His seminal work 'London Past and Present' has been established as the standard for reference works of London. With the bookplate of John Stafford Reid Dyers to the front pastedown of each volume. Illustrated with 11 plates across the 3 volumes present. In a full cloth binding. Externally, sound. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine, resulting in small tears to the cloth. Rubbing to the extremities. The odd spot to the fore edge. Volume V appears to be rebacked, with original backstrip preserved. Front and rear hinges have tape repairs. Front and rear hinges of volume II are strained. Rear hinge of volume I is strained. Binding has failed to the reverse of the front endpaper of volume I. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are generally clean, with heavy spotting to the first and last pages. Good Only

The occasional offsetting on the pages opposite plates. Mark to the plate on page 307 of volume one. Loss to the frontispiece of volume two, although this does not affect the image. Small amount of loss to the lower plate on page 81 of volume five. Very Good Indeed
