Cloth age darkened, especially on spine which has browned, albeit lettering still very legible. Head and heel of spine shaved with some wear to cloth at fore-edges and front gutter. Interior clean and unmarked. Fair.

Description: On title page publisher is George H. Doran. Slightly smaller book, darker yellow cloth badly soiled with reddish stain at bottom front right near tip, 297 lightly browned heavy pages. Very small surface wear spot affecting "he" in "The," two light scratches down front, light threading at bottom front edge next to tip, microtear at spine top and bottom left edges, and middle of long spine left edge. Fair.

Description: Original olive green ribbed cloth with gilt titles and white gilt-bordered title box. The extremely rare first book by the author of The Moon and Sixpence, Of Human Bondage, and other classics. Small discoloration spot to front cover just below title box; a few scratches to the white in the frame box; rubbing discoloration to spine corners; very light 1/4x1/2" amber stain to top corner of title page and tissue interleaving; otherwise a better than very good, clean, tight and unmarked copy in bright cover gilt. Comes in a thick archival Mylar jacket. A very presentable copy.
