Description: Written by the late Robert Southey, edited by his son-in-law John Wood Warter, B.D. New edition, "complete in one volume." Includes the Three Bears Story ("Someone has been at my porridge"). Typography is elegant with text arranged in two columns and set within margins. Panelled leather boards with subtle, debossed patterning. Spine is also appealing with raised gilt bands and the book's titles set against red and green backgrounds. (NB the label on the spine reads vol. I but the contents pages (of which there are two - see images) indicate this edition is as stated above "complete in one volume." Marbled edges. The pages are mildly to moderately tanned with occasional spotting; more evident on the preliminary and final ones. Pp. xl, 439/8vo.
