Description: Green paper-covered boards with dark green spine and cover labels gilt, 12mo., (ii), xx, 56, (6) pages, two color portraits, color folding plate and 3-page facsimile muster roll. 500 copies printed from Arrighi and Centaur type on Van Gelder handmade paper. An attractive, clean, near fine copy in archival mylar.

Description: Light green paper over boards with paper labels on the front and the spine with gilt lettering on both. Slight discoloration on the lower part of the boards. The DJ is plain brown paper with slight wear at the corners and tips of the spine. Lower edge of the front board has very small slit and very slight wear at the top corners. Discoloration where the DJ flaps meet the inside boards and endpapers. The inside pages are nice and look unmarked. Nice foldout color painting picture of Sutter's Fort at page 56 is intact and looks nice. Newspaper article on Gold Discovery Days laid in between a few blank pages at the back of the book. Contains several color reproductions of paintings relating to Johann August Sutter, including a large fold-out color reproduction. Also includes a facsimile of an original document written by Johann August Sutter in 1845 at back of book. Binding good and tight. Pages clean and square.
