Description: hardback, quarto, measuring 13" x 10 1/2", pale brown cloth lettered black, no dust wrapper, knock to the foot of spine and rubbed to the head, cloth moderately soiled, the upper hinge has been crudely strengthened, the lower hinge just starting to crack, the text block however remains tight, free of markings, inscriptions, etc., 33 reproductions in colour, 150 monochrome. A very heavy volume which will, if ordered from certain locations outside the United Kingdom, attract a request for additional postage.

Description: 1st Trade Edition. Oatmeal cloth with brown stamped titles to the front and spine. Top edge brown and other edges uncut, (xi)231(1) with 33 full colour illustrations and 150 in monochrome. In original brown paper dust jacket with a £3-3-0 net price. The boards are clean and bright with firm sharp corners and just a hint of pushing to the foot of the spine. Internally clean and bright and without name inscription or bookplate and just a little spotting to the uncut edges. The dust jacket, which is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown), presents very well with a 2cm chip to the head of the spine and lesser loss to the joint tips and corners. Three closed tears to the top and bottom edges of 1.5 to 2.5 cm and a little associated creasing. All in all an excellent, well illustrated contemporary examination of the range of Brangwyn's work. The book is in near fin e condition with just a hint of dust soiling to the outer edges of the binding. The endpapers are slightly tanned inside otherwise fine. In a Good plain brown printed dust wrapper that has a 2" chip at the base of the spine, several small, shallow chips to the edges and is dust s oiled.

Description: A handsome copy of the 1924 1st American trade edition, issued simultaneously with the British edition AND INCLUDING ITS UNCOMMON PRINTED DUSTJACKET. Tight and VG+ to Near Fine (light offsetting at the endsheets) in a crisp, VG to VG+ dustjacket, with chipping at the spine crown (resulting in a tiny bit of loss to the titling) and very light scuffing and streaking to the rear panel. Tall quarto, deckled fore and bottom-edges. From the title page: "A Study of the Problems of Decoration with Special Reference to the Work of This Artist by Herbert Furst, author of 'The Modern Woodcut', etc. Illustrated with Thirty-Three Reproductions in Colour and about One Hundred and Fifty in Monochrome." Handsome and very presentable, especially as such, in its original dustjacket.
