Description: contemporary half calf black leather binding with marbled boards; four raised bands; lettering in gilt on a red leather label; gilt is bright; two volumes in one; the binder for some unknown reason has chosen to bind in a second title page and frontispiece dated 1827; why is a mystery as the 2 additional leaves are heavily foxed unlike all other pages; attractive book plate on front paste-down; spine is square and hinges are tight; 325 pp being [232] and [93]; followed by an Index [4]; all edges tinted red; Charles Cotton was an angler friend of Walton and following a number of editions by Walton, Cotton added a second part to The Compleat Angler; it continued the dialogue between Piscator ( an experienced angler) and Viator( a student fisherman) and particularly dealt with fly fishing and the tying of flies; Duodecimo (100 x 68 mm).

Duodecimo (100 x 68 mm). Contemporary green half morocco, marbled sides ruled in blind, spine lettered and tooled in gilt, raised bands ruled in gilt, marbled endpapers and edges. With 2 portrait frontispieces, 1 title-page vignette. Bookplate of William Boys Tylden-Patttenson to front pastedown. A little scuffing to covers, slight wear to edges, slight foxing to contents. A very good copy.
