Description: Four volumes of the 4 volume set, conditions the same for all unless noted: 3/4 leather to spine and corners over marbled paper on boards. Text block edges marbled to match, except top which is dyed gray. Endpapers are marbled as well. Raised bands on spines but original gilt titling faded and leather worn by use. Books are tight, square, relatively sharp-cornered and free of major flaws or markings inside and out, other than aforementioned fading to spines. Nice frontispiece engraving to Vol. I. Books are Very Good.

Uniformly bound in 3/4 leather and marbled paper, slightly raised bands on gilt decorated spines, red and brown leather spine labels, all edges marbled, marbled endpapers. Half title in each volume, with tissue-guarded frontis in volume I, all bindings and hinges tight. Occasional light foxing, mostly showing on preliminary pages. Covers show corner wear, light edge wear, one eighth inch upper edge chip to backstrip on vol. IV, backstrips crackled, with some chipping to red spine labels. ALL PROTECTED IN MYLAR JACKETS.
