Text remarkably clean, bright, unmarked. Endpapers browned, staining to backstrips, corners lightly bumped and worn. #426 of 500 signed and numbered by Marston. The Lea and Dobe 100th edition. Limited, number 346 of 500 copies. Edition number and editor's signature penned on reverse of volume one's half title page. Boards and spines are marked and lightly scored. Rear board of volume one is sunned. Spines are tanned. Spine of volume two is slightly rippled. One centimetre tear on spine foot of volume one. Shelf marks on spine feet. Leading corners and spine ends are bumped, worn and nicked. Lower edges are lightly bumped and worn. Page block and pages are tanned and marked with creases throughout. Pen on pastedowns. Library stamps on FEPs and reverse of title pages. FEP to title page of volume two are detached from binding. Front pastedown hinges are split and binding is visible throughout but remaining pages are intact. Pages are rough-cut and nicked. Ten centimetre tear on FEP of volume two . Bound in original publisher's quarter cream over green cloth covered boards with gilt embossed titles to the spines and monograms to the cloth boards. Upper edges gilt - others rough-cut. Some age toning to the spines. Several light bumps to the board edges. Toning to the endpapers. A former owner's name in ink to the head of the front endpaper (A. G. West Bridlington). Some spotting to the endpapers (also plate XVIII Mouth of the Old River Stort), a little less to the leading and lower fore-edges - very scattered elsewhere. Several board corners a little turned in. A very good, clean, tight two volume limited editions set.
