Description: (iv) (xvi) 246 pages + advert leaf on books published by Samuel Bagster, top edge gilt, edges uncut, title page engraved portrait of Walton, facsimile of the title page of the 1653 edition, 6 silver engravings of fish in the text on heavier paper, 2 plates of music, the 2nd bound upside down, extra illustrations with 17 finely hand coloured plates of fish. Horne notes that the engravings are identical with the 17 by Philip Audinet that are in the Bagster 1808 1st edition. He also mentions the portrait of Walton inserted in some copies was not made for this edition. Coigney 20 does not list a copy with 17 plates or a portrait. Bound in 1/2 tan calf by Sangorski and Sutcliffe. A vg complete copy of the first attempt at an exact reprint of the 1653 1st Horne 20, Coigney 20.
