Terry Pratchett. The Colour of Magic - A LIGHTLY READ EX- LIBRARY COPY. Colin Smythe, 1983.
Price: US$6340.28 + shipping
Condition: Very Good
Description: HARDBACK - A very good book bound in the publisher's olive green boards that are clean and fresh. There is a little pushing to the spine tips, but the book has sharp corners. Internally, the text is clean for an ex-library copy, with a little foxing to the page block. There are some small marks to a small number of the pages, but without tears or dog eared corners. There is some hinge loosening to the title page, but with this exception, the book is tightly bound with no spine lean. The book has the usual signs of having been an ex library copy with a lending docket present to the front end paper, also a library stamp to the copy rite page. There are no other stamps inset. The dust wrapper is in very good condition with rubbing and creasing to the extremities and to the front and rear flap folds. Minimal fading to the spine, with bright colouring to the front and rear panels. The publisher's printed overlay is present to the inner front flap. Most copies were pasted over the original blurb as a result of inaccuracies spotted when the jacket was returned from the American printers. The Colin Smythe label with a price of £7.95 is present to the top corner of the front flap. A nice, lightly read title considering it was once in the UK library system. An exceedingly scarce UK title with a print run of a mere 506 copies.

Price: US$14000.00 + shipping
Description: First edition of the first Discworld novel in the author's acclaimed series, in the rare first issue dust jacket with the publisher's corrected blurb pasted on the front flap. Octavo, original cloth. Near fine in a near fine dust jacket. The first edition is reported to have comprised 500 copies, but 400 of these were seemingly issued to libraries within the United Kingdom. Rare. A writer who has been compared to Mark Twain, Kurt Vonnegut, and Douglas Adams, Sir Terry Pratchett has created a complex, yet zany world filled with a host of unforgettable characters who navigate around a profound fantasy universe, complete with its own set of cultures and rules.
