Description: Original decorated cloth binding, xv, 318 pages, several illustrations on plates, cloth binding rubbed and worn, the rear spine cracking with a tear along the spine, frontispiece almost loose, otherwise very good in the interior. From the library of naturalist and hunter Malcolm Lyell (1922-2011), who for several decades was managing director and owner of gunmaker Holland and Holland and also from the library of Henry G. M. Dunn, whose nice armorial bookplate is inside front cover and his note that Wallace signed the book for him during a Shikar Club dinner in 1959. Also Lyell`s ownership inscription and a mounted notice of the funeral of Wallace, at whiuch Lyell had been present. Loosely inserted is a 2 page handwritten letter by Wallace to Dunn, about, if we make this out correctly, other big game books. Also inserted is a leaflet about a reprint of this book and a page from Country Life, 20th April 1935 with a brief review of an exhibition of pictures by Frank Wallace. Rare inscribed.
