Description: Quarto, Limited wition of 483 sets bound in green and ivory paper over boards. Each with a frontis with an etching by W.H.W. Bicknell after a painting by Howard Pyle. A light abrasion on front cover of volume 4 otherwise a very good sound set. Laid into volume 1 is a unique disclaimer from the printer indicating a misprint on one page and the determined to be a misprint by members of the 'Council' in charge of the printing. He goes on to dramatize the comic decisions made by the printers, proof readers and editor. Inspite of this it still slipped through the cracks and "idioddities" went topress. The errata is printed on Bibliophile Society watermarked paper.

Description: Four volumes; one of 483 copies. Illustrated with four etchings by W.H. W. Bicknell after paintings by Howard Pyle. A near fine set. [With] Etchings by W.H.W. Bicknell after Original Paintings by Howard Pyle. Large folio; publishers boards with metal clasps; soiled and worn; one of 320 sets. These plates were made in a much larger size, each plate signed by Bicknell and Pyle. Aside from the four illustrations in the Dibdin, this folio included one of Richard DeBury. The etchings are slightly larger than 18 x 25', image approximately 10 x 17'; with the original matting and tissue guards. All five cancelled proofs are present, but this set lacks the finished etching of Walton. The illustrations are in excellent condition. All books described as first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted.
