Ex-library: rebound in dark blue cloth, front free endpaper removed, marks on endpapers where dust jacket has been attached, stamps on title page and reverse and on last page of text. Contents otherwise clean. In a bright dust jacket with design from Salvador Dali. Very slightly trimmed flaps otherwise complete with slight tear to back flap.

Description: True first British printing with original unclipped jacket (21s/£1.05). Jacket has minor patchy edge/shelf wear, fading to spine, the odd small crease/rub to edges, a little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine and to corners, the odd small mark, the odd spot of foxing, a little patchy browning/odd small mark/spots of foxing to reverse (white side), little creasing/patchy browning/minor foxing to front/back inner flaps and the odd small scratch. Boards are near fine (having been well protected by the jacket) with a hint of pushing to corners and very minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Top of pages dyed pink have the odd very small mark/spot of foxing. Previous owner's name, date and location in pen to front end-paper. Pages little tanned. Odd small mark/spot of foxing to page edges and bottoms. Inside boards/end-papers bit tanned with the odd small mark/spots of foxing. Very occasional small mark/spot of foxing to pages. No other faults. A nice copy. All books described honestly and accurately. Paypal accepted.

Ballard's experimental novel, comprising a series of interlinked stories or chapters. The book was going to be published first in the USA, but publishers Doubleday & Company had the print-run destroyed due to fear of legal action from some of the celebrities depicted therein.
