Description: A good hardback first edition in a fair dust jacket. There is a neat previous ownership name (and a date) in the top right-hand corner of the front free endpaper, and the feint shadow of some pencilled annotations at the top of the same page. The boards and main contents are clean, and the binding is secure. The dust jacket has not been price-clipped, but it is tanned on the spine and has a small injury to the right-hand edge of the upper cover (pictured). Overall, a good hardback first edition, but with a dust jacket which is tanned on the spine.

Description: Original pubisher's dark blue boards with gilt lettering on the spine, in pale blue dustwrapper with black lettering and design. Ex- library copy in original publisher's binding. The book has tape marks on front and rear pastedowns and endpapers, and also on the boards. Stamps on the front pastedown, title and copyright pages. Also signs of adhesive, and erasing on the front free endpaper. The dustwrapper has tape marks, on the corners of the turn-ins, and an"A" in biro on the front. Apart from these considerations, the book is quite good, tight and fairly clean throughout. The dustwrapper is also quite good, with no tears and without much wear.

Description: First impression of the true first edition of the author's scarce second book. ***Near fine in black cloth-covered boards with gilt titles to spine. Top edge of text-block stained pale blue to match the dustwrapper, but slightly faded. The boards are clean and unmarked. Top of spine just very slightly bumped. Corners sharp. Internally also near fine with no inscriptions, just a small Foyle's bookseller's label to the front pastedown. No foxing. Pages bright. ***In a near fine pale blue and black printed dustwrapper, that has not been price-clipped, retaining the original publisher's price of 30s net. Head and tail of spine of dustwrapper just very slightly creased and rubbed. Spine of dustwrapper slightly faded but hardly browned at all - far less than is usually found. Small mark to the top of the spine, and a couple of tiny spots. Small closed tear to the top edge of the back panel of the dustwrapper near the spine. Extremities of dustwrapper just slightly browned. Front and rear panels of dustwrapper bright. No tears.
