Description: Reprint, hardcover in red cloth with black titling to the front and spine, and three interior black and white plates. The book has light bumps to the spine ends and cover corners, a few faint spots and smudges to the covers and spine, mild smudging to the edges of the text block, a previous owner's name to the first free end page, and a brief penned notation to the spine (11/UA-220), otherwise a solid, tight Near Very Good copy in a Good only early dust jacket, which features an image of Burroughs along with 28 titles on the rear panel, and 25 ERB titles on the interior. The jacket has bumps with chips and tears to the spine ends and corners, a small floating chip at the head of the spine that affects the title, edge wear with small chips and creased tears, light rubbing to the covers, and the penned notation is repeated on the spine. Jacket is wrapped in a Mylar cover.

Couple small facial tears in the cloth on the rear board, both along the upper edge - one has a remanat of clear tape, so guessing someone tried to remove it with only a little success. White endpapers. Previous owner's name written on the free front endpaper. Binding is straight and tight. There's a one inch closed tear in the upper edge of the rear endpaper with a strip of clear tape over it. Pages are clean, white, and crisp. 318 pages. No dust jacket. Light tape glue mark (not abrasion) to front and rear boards, also affecting pastedowns, from offset of tape glue through boards. Dust jacket with only very minor shelf wear at head and heel of spine and one corner, and some tan soiling at edge of rear flap, most likely due to smoke, as pasted to front free endpaper is a notice from the publisher stating that the book is a survivor of a fire that took place in a store-room due to the spontaneous combustion of old Tarzan motion pictures. The fire took place in May of 1958.

Binding is straight and tight. Pages are all clean, white, and crisp. 318 pages. Red topstain. Dust Jacket - is a facsimile dust jacket. Jacket has a fair amount of rubbing at the head of the spine and very light rubing at the tail of the spine and tips of the outside corners. There are a couple 1/4" chips in the head of the spine and a series of smaller ones in the tail. 1/16" chip in the tip of each of the outside corners. 1/4" chip in the upper edge of the front cover and a 1/4" closed tear in the upper edge of the rear cover. 1/3" closed tear in the lower edge of the front cover.
