The first edition of this translation omitted some items from the French version, which is described in a note in the back as being "in no respect an integral or important part of the drama". However, this did prompt the publisher, Alice Harriman, to write a personal inscription on this copy. It says: "I omitted the original French which was somewhat strong for English taste after consulting with the literary execution of Hearn - Mrs. Wetmore. In the second edition, however, we decided to include the hitherto omitted material. Alice Harriman". Size: 8mo - over 7 3/4" - 9 3/4" tall. 261 pp. Pages are tight and clean. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Minor bumping and rubbing. Cover is protected in plastic, but there are some tape marks on the endpapers from that plastic. Quantity Available: 1.
