Color illus. dust jacket is rubbed along joints and flap folds, with modest surface rubbing to front panel, mild rubbing/soiling to rear panel, with a few small chips at heel of spine, area of surface loss on upper front panel due to price sticker removal, now in mylar. 1st ed. 246 pp. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall

Description: 8vo. 246 pp. Stated first edition. Genre writer Fredric Brown takes a turn at writing a non-genre book. A character study of the lives of seven people who once worked together in a small office. Condition is good with fairly heavy foxing and offsetting to the endpapers. The discoloration extends to the dustwrapper flaps as well. For some reason this book tends to be found in fairly unattractive condition and this copy is no exception.

In publisher's dust jacket, $3.50 on front flap, light shelf wear to both panels, pen mark over price on front flap, bright illustrations. Fredric Brown was an American science fiction, mystery, short fantasy and black comedy writer. His first novel, The Fabulous Clipjoint, won an Edgar Award for outstanding mystery novel. Another novel, The Screaming Mimi, was adapted into a film in 1958. He is widely considered one of the best Science Fiction Writers of the 20th Century. Fredric Brown died in 1972, having published over 100 works of fiction. Since his death, many of his early pulp novels have been republished and have found a cult following.
