This copy has been rebound in green calf half binding to marbled paper covered boards, with raised bands to five compartments with gilt titling, decoration and banding. There are barbled endpapers. The tissue guard to the frontis is missing leaving some typical offsetting to the title page. The illustrated plates and woodcuts have been collated The whole is in fine condition. A dustwrapper is not called for. A lovely copy. Andrew Lang (31 March 1844 20 July 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, bibliophile and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. The Andrew Lang lectures at the University of St Andrews are named after him. Probably best known for his work on folk tales, mythology and his twelve Fairy Books, he was also a noted expert on books and matters bibliographic. Ref T3 Size: 184pp
