Condition: Very Good

Description: Boston:Houghton Mifflin Company. 1910. 468pp. Illustrated. Hardcover.  Boards are lightly shelf-worn, with wear to spine ends and edge points. The lower edges show an old damp stain which can also be seen on the lower page edges. Otherwise, internally a very good clean copy with just light foxing on the end-papers. The hinges are intact and the binding tight.  *The bulk of these letters were addressed to Prof. Basil Hall Chamberlain, to whom, more than to any other correspondent, Hearn gave his best and richest efforts. In them is shown perhaps better than anywhere else, the wide rage of his mental excursions, his insatiable intellectual curiosity, the dignity and beauty of his character, the gradual deepening and purifying with time of the graver aspects of his though. *Bisland. **This is a heavy book and postage overseas will be at cost.
