Description: First Edition. Undated, c. 1923. All 16 tipped in plates present and gorgeous. Stated as American first ed THUS (ie first ed with Dulac illustrations) in other listings, but the info varies- the dates have been listed as from anywhere between 1911 and 1930 with the same description of 16 plates and either green or brown boards. "I" on verso seems to support that this is a first thus. Green cloth boards with gilt lettering. Spine a bit faded, minor shelf/reading wear. Otherwise VG. Pages/boards clean, NO foxing or markings. Binding sturdy.

Description: Very good book in very good dust jacket. Tail of book spine is worn with small vertical creases; head of spine is bumped carrying over to upper right back edge. Book is internally clean with 16 tipped-in illustrations by Edmund Dulac. Dust jacket is fragile and soiled overall. Fore-edge of jacket fold is beginning to separate with a 3 1/2" closed tear beginning at the upper right fore-edge corner. Upper front left edge of jacket has a 3" long horizontal crease with several adjacent vertical creases of 5/16" or less. Lower front right corner of jacket has a chip with 3/4" x 1/4" loss; Lower rear left corner of fore-edge fold is separating with a 1" closed tear; lower rear left corner of jacket is creased with a 5/8" closed tear and adjacent diagonal creases. Upper right rear corner has a chip with 7/8" tears along the spine and an adjacent 5/8" horizontal tear with several diagonal creases of 3 1/2" or less running to the upper back edge. The jacket spine is sunned overall; head of spine is chipped and rubbed with loss of 7/8" x 5/16"; tail of spine is rubbed with loss of 2" x 1/16". Front left corner edge of jacket spine has a closed tear of 1 3/4" with adjacent 1 3/4" vertical tear running across the spine.
