Condition: Very Good

Description: Octavo. Blue cloth covered boards and spine with shiny silver foil lettering on the spine and a shiny silver foil airplane illustration on the front board. Book has light bumping at the tail of the spine with a trace of accompanying rubbing. Enough rubbing to the four outside corners to lighten the color of their tips. The cloth at the extreme tip of the lower front outside corner has been worn through, and one can see a pice of the inner board about the size of a felt tipped pen dot. Illustrated endpapers. Binding is straight and tight. Very light cream colored pages are all clean and crisp. 562 pages, which includes a final page with a diagram of the Spirit of St. Louis. Dust Jacket has very light rubbing at the rear corner of the head of the spine and a nearly unnoticable trace of rubbing at the tail. Couple small rub spots on the upper edge of the front cover right next to the upper outside corner. Original $5.00 price on the upper corner of the front inside flap. We removed an old dust jacket cover that apparently was applied early on in the book's life - the colors are vivid, and the upper and lower edges are sharp. Edition identified by way of matching dates on the title and copyright pages, as well as the Scribner [A] on the copyright page. A tight clean copy in a beautiful dust jacket!
