Pictorial green endpapers, page edges uncut. The principal illustrations are facsimile reproductions from old conjuring books. Printed by lithography from plates made by C. Taylor. The small illustrations on the title and chapter title pages are also reproduced from old conjuring books and are printed by letterpress. The binding is by F.F. Allsop and Co. Ltd. This book is no. 463 of 465 numbered copies bound in one third black calf with crushed canvas sides blocked in real gold. It retains the original clear plastic jacket which has become wrinkled, mainly at the spine and edges.

Laid in is a small sheet stating that the book came from the book collection of poet Rod McKuen and sold by Heritage Auctions. No other evidence in this book as having been owned by Rod McKuen.
